Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, celebrated its sports-cum-annual day on the school premises. The celebration began with the March past by all four houses Shanti, Amar, Gurunanak, and Gandhi. Students from Class II to Class X participated in the sports meet. The school management distributed cheques among the position holders of session 2018-19. 

Tiny tots go for school picnic 

Students of pre-primary section of Jammu Sanskriti School, Kathua, went on an excursion to KK Birla Park. The tiny tots of the school had a lot of fun during the picnic. The students under the supervision of Monika (co-ordinator pre-primary) and Smriti (Co-ordinator primary wing) along with the teaching fraternity went for the picnic.

KC school holds quiz contest

As many as 16 CBSE-affiliated schools have taken part in the 8th edition of the Sahodaya Inter-School mega quiz contest hosted by KC Public School. The participating schools were host KC Public School, KC International School, BSF School, Heritage School, Rich Harvest School, Jodhamal Public School, APS Nagrota, APS Damana, APS Jammu Cantt, APS Akhnoor, Stephens International School, Jammu Sanskriti School, Mt LiteraZee School Kathua, MV International School, Presentation Convent and Indian Public School Kathua.Army Public School (APS,) Damana team, comprising Ritik Bhat and Gorab Singh emerged quiz champions while Harshil Sharma and Akhilesh Magotra of KC International School came second. Nirmal Mahana, president of Sahodaya Schoo,l Jammu Complex, was the guest of honour.

North-zone meet ends at SMVDU

A two-day long North-Zone Vice-Chancellors' Meet organised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, concluded on Sunday at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra. More than 60 Vice-Chancellors and Directors of various institutions, including the officers of NAAC, AICTE besides other government bodies were engaged in a serious discussion on employability, education and entrepreneurship. During the valedictory session, Prof RK Sinha, SMVDU Vice-Chancellor, was the chief guest who raised some significant existential issues and challenges of higher education institutions. 

 USTA delegation meets Director

A deputation of J&K United School Teachers Association (USTA) met the Director School Education, Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, in her office. The delegation put forth its long-pending demands. USTA provincial president, Hari Singh appraised the Director that some masters who already had served in far-flung areas and out of their districts had once again been transferred to those far-flung places. USTA requested her to adjust all newly promoted lecturers according to their order in the promotion list

Group song competition

Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana, organised an inter-school patriotic group song competition under the banner of Sahodaya Schools Complex, Jammu chapter. The Programme started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. Total 220 participants from 22 CBSE-affiliated schools participated in the competition. First prize was bagged by Rich Harvest School.
