Teachers’ Day celebrated at GNDU Regional Campus

Teachers’ Day was celebrated at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, GND Univesity Regional Campus, at Ladhewali here today. Cake was cut by staff and students and sweets were distributed. Prof Kamlesh Singh Duggal talked about the significance of the day to students. Dr Namarta Joshi, head of the department, greeted all the teachers. Dr Charan Kamal Walia, Savita Dhamija and Shopita Khurana were also present on the occasion.

GNDU College

Teacher’s Day was jointly observed by teachers and students of Guru Nanak Dev University College, Phillaur, here today. The teacher’s day was dedicated to the memory of Prof Gurdial Singh.The speaker and the audience paid tributes to Prof Gurdial Singh.

Five students also praised the role of teachers as nation builders in their speeches. Prof Sarita Tewari inspired the students to aim high and achieve their dreams through systematic studies, scientific thinking and humane values. She presented vote of thanks. Prof Paramjit Kaur conducted the programme.

Police DAV Public School

Teachers’ Day was celebrated with a difference at Police DAV Public School. It comprised of a chain of competitions for the teachers like photo frame making and cultural event presentation. Teachers displayed their creativity by using different mediums and modes. The winners were awarded various prizes.

SD Public School

Teachers’ Day was celebrated at SD Public Senior Secondary School under Principal Harmesh Lal. Swami Ram Bharti and master Ramesh Chander Datta also participated. Plus two students of the school honoured teachers. Studnets took all the school arrangements under them for the day and encouraged children to respect parents, teachers and elders. Students also presented cultural programmes on the occasion. Kuldeep Duggal, school staff among others were present.

Kamla Nehru Public School

Kamla Nehru Public School Chak Hakim, Phagwara celebrated teachers day with great fervour. A special assembly was organised in which students sang songs, recited poems and presented dance to express their love and gratitude for teachers. The grade XII students presented a unique modelling show holding “Thank You” placards for the efforts of whole staff. A friendly volley ball match was played between teachers and students team. Tug- of- war between teachers and students was enjoyed by all. Principal PK Dhillon, Acharaya Raju Vigyanik and the entire staff planted trees on the campus.

Lyallpur Khalsa College

Teachers’ Day was celebrated at Lyallpur Khalsa College of Engineering by ICICI Bank. A national level art competition was held on the campus. More than 100 students participated in the meeting. The winners of the event will be given prizes like I phone 6, avon cycle, imagica passes, etc. After that a ceremony took place in which cake cutting was done and games were played between teachers. Then the teachers were honoured with greetings. Dr YS Randhawa, Director, LKCE, congratulated the teachers on the occasion and motivated students by saying that such kind of cultural activities are also necessary with the academics for the overall development of the students.

La Blossoms School

La Blossoms School celebrated Teachers’ Day.The programme was presided over by Vandana Murria and Ruhani Kohli, directors of the school. In her speech, Murria applauded all the teachers for their invaluable contribution. She added that the school and the students owe all their success to the teachers. Awards were felicitated to teachers by students. Seema Thakur was awarded life time achievement award for her services for last 16 years . Physics teacher Amit Sethi was awarded 100 pc dedicated teacher’s award. The event created a long lasting memory and students designed their gratitude towards teachers. —TNS
