On the second day of the book fair being organised by the National Book Trust of India at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall, a story reading session was organised where renowned storywriters including Attarjit, Des Raj Kali, Bhagwant Rasulpuri and Binder Basra read their stories. The stories dealt with several issues concerning the society.

Also, the book fair remained hugely occupied by book lovers who bought all sorts of book on the second day of the fair. Jaishree, a visitor, said she had been fond of buying books from the exhibitions of NBT and other such occasions. “I have already bought a couple of books on fiction, both in English and Punjabi. It is not only me, all members of my family are fond of reading,” she said, adding that the book reading culture had not died as yet and that there were many people like her who love reading books.

Children books remained a centre of attraction. “I have bought books for my children. One is an eight year old and the other is six. I want to ignite their interest in books like my parents did for me. Eventually books are the best friends,” said Manjit Kaur.
