The Jat Sikh Council condemned the killing of Jats in Haryana and requested them not to resort to any violence and hold protest peacefully.

‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’ was a slogan given to India by Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri in 1965 understanding and knowing the importance of soldiers and farmers. Farmers who are the backbone of the country and food provider are in bad condition because of wrong polices of the government,” said Sukhwinder Singh Lally, governing secretary of the council. “We stand by the Jat community in Haryana and request them to hold the processions peacefully and not damage property,” said the council members.

“No farmer having more than 5 acres of land holding should be given reservation or the OBC status. Reservation should be on the basis of economic condition,” said one of the council members.

“If a farmer commits suicide he is not responsible, the conditions force him to do so because he is not being given sufficient crop price by the government,” said the council members asserted.
