After winning and losing several tournaments, Jasmeet Kaur of MGN Public School is celebrating her success of getting the second position in the 63rd under-19 girls National Basketball Tournament that was held in Panchkula (Haryana) recently. This was her second national championship. Attributing her success to her coach Anju Bharadwaj she said she was also the captain of the last state-level basketball tournament held in November.

Being the daughter of a sportsman, she started playing basketball at the age of five and since then, she has been participating in every tournament from school level to state level. Showing her trophies, she said the appreciation she had received in response always motivated her to perform better. Recalling one such incident, she said her father texted her that she was already a champion for him and no matter what happened he would always be proud of her. It motivated her to give at her best to win the championship.

Besides basketball, she has also participated in state-level athletic competitions and aspires to represent India at international basketball tournaments. She said some extra efforts and extra practice always improves the performance of a sportsperson.
