IKG-PTU all set to begin classes on campus

The IKG-PTU has established and notified its teaching departments under five different faculties in order to provide best academic atmosphere to its campus students. The faculties are engineering and technology, applied sciences, media and mass communication, management studies and architecture.
The university has also shifted its 26 faculty members, including five associate professors, in their respective specialised teaching field. Earlier, these faculty members were attached with different departments of the varsity for various academic affairs. There is an overwhelmed response to few vacant seats of campus admissions. The IKG-PTU has started its campus admissions for the first time from this academic year.
The university has opened its in-campus admission on the basis of inter-se merit for all courses on Saturday-Sunday. The university faculty received tremendous response of the students. Twenty admission rooms were opened for admitting students to various courses. Entire teaching, non-teaching staff and PhD scholars on campus catered to the needs of the students and parents. Applications were received from other states too. Merit lists were displayed on notice boards on the same day and parents and students were given an opportunity to raise objections if any. Direct admission against a few vacant seats opened from today and will continue till August 15 or until seats are filled whichever is earlier. Classes are scheduled to begin on August 1. Rakesh Verma, Vice-Chancellor, IKG-PTU, who is also Secretary Technical Education and Industrial Training department, said: “The varsity is aiming to provide its students best academic infrastructure. Recently, the university has recruited assistant professors in various streams who are having PhD qualification. The university is also going to advertise for more than 25 faculty positions of professors and associate professors for various teaching departments.”—TNS
