Jalandhar, March 17

Harpreet Singh, aka Vickey Deol, a resident of Sultanpur Lodhi, who already has his records registered in the Golden Book of World Records, India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records, got another feather in his cap by achieving a name for himself in the Limca Book of Records for performing 59 push-ups in a minute on two thumbs.

Vickey was awarded the title in the Limca Book of Records last week from Vatsala Kaul Banerjee, Editor, Limca Book of Records, who through email firstly intimated Deol about his name being registered in the 2018 edition.

It was last year in Khalsa College that he performed the push-ups on thumbs in front of the jury of the Limca Book of Records, who accorded the title of the national record to him after he broke the record of 54 push-ups on thumbs by doing 59 push-ups in a minute.

Deol has now become an inspiration for many budding sportspersons worldwide. The 41-year-old now aims to create more records in the coming time and wants to see himself as a youth icon. He said, “The day is not far when I will break this record and willregister 80 push-ups in a minute on two thumbs”

Sharing his journey, he said, “I was honoured with a memento from Tony Skipper, Lord Mayor of the City of Conventry in London, last year, after I conducted fitness camps and gave training to people who want a career in the field of sports and martial arts.”

He claimed that his name would appear in the the Guinness Book of Records soon, as the registered record which claims 54 push-ups on a thumb in a minute, has now been broken by him.
