Dinosaurs brought alive at Kapurthala Science City

Adding another feather to its cap, moving dinosaurs have been introduced in Dino Park at the Pushpa Gujral Science City, Kapurthala. 

Mohammad Tayyab, Director General, Science City, said, “Earlier, moving dinosaurs were seen only in movies. Dinosaurs are bound to leave visitors amazed. This showcase of technology will enhance the Knowledge and bring out the practical immersible experience of the era of dinosaurs.”

He said, “The structure of moving dinosaur has been made with robust steel, silica gel and durable motors, including innovative light and sound effects. Seven such dinosaurs have been installed in the Dino Park. Visitors will have real fun after watching dinosaurs blinking their eyes, opening and closing mouth with emulating sound, movement of front claws, swaying of tail and breathing.”

Tayyab said life-size model of Tyrannosaurus (T Rex) Stegosaurus, Mamenchisaurus, Triceratops and Baryonic have been set up in this gallery.

He also inaugurated five scientific information exhibits kiosks-based on metallurgy, gemmology, geology, numismatic and soil science. He said these exhibits would make students and general public aware about various types of metals and alloys, physical properties of different gems, types of rocks and minerals, different kinds of coins of pre and post-independence period as well as various types of soils prevalent in the country. The robotic dinosaur gallery has been set up on PPP mode with an investment of Rs1.5 crore.
