DAV school celebrates annual day

Hoshiarpur, January 10

DAV Senior Secondary School, Hoshiarpur, celebrated its 121st annual day today on the premises of the school. Vijay Sampla, the Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment graced the occasion as the chief guest.

The programme was chaired by Dr Anoop Kumar, chairman, DAV College Management Committee, Hoshiarpur. Principal DL Anand, former secretary of the committee, was the special guest.

The event was inaugurated by lighting the lamp. Dr Anoop welcomed the guests and motivated the students to work hard. He appealed them to serve the country by becoming good citizens.

Sampla said the society needed the value education. He lauded the efforts of the DAV institutions for promoting education and upgrading moral values among the students.

Sampla announced to adopt the school and promised every kind of cooperation for the development of the school.

DAVCMC secretary, principal DL Anand, congratulated the students and encouraged them to go ahead and perform better in education as well as extracurricular activities.

‘Saraswati Vandana’ was presented by Khushi Verma a student of the school. Principal of the school, Monica Sood, presented the annual report of the school and informed that students of the school have achieved national-level achievements in academics as well as in sports and co-curricular activities.

Students presented ‘Dance Mashup and Dance Medley; ‘Tuhadi Zindagi da Faisla’; a skit; dance based on Punjabi songs, and a choreography based on the childrens’ songs; and a drama ‘Kaise Hoga Swachh Bharat’ and ‘Bhangra’.

Students, who excelled in the academics, sports, NCC and co-curricular activities were rewarded.

Members of the DAV College Management Committee; principal of associate institutions; Professors; teachers and staff members were present.
