City schools celebrate Children’s Day with zeal

It was a fun and frolic day for students of all schools in the city as teachers organised entertaining Children’s Day functions for them.
Eklavya School
Eklavya School organised a very entertaining programme for students on Children’s Day function today. In the morning assembly, a cultural programme was arranged. Gurneet, a Class X student, spoke on the importance of the day. Some students sang solo songs in their sweet voice. The school had gone for recording of their songs at a radio station few days back. Today, these songs were broadcast in Children’s Day special programme ‘Bal Jagat’. School chairman JK Gupta and director Seema Handa congratulated the students.
Ivy World School
Ivy World School celebrated a fun-filled Children’s Day for students with enthusiasm and vigour. A special assembly with various activities such as songs, play and quiz was organised for the students. Students were also enlightened with the contribution of Jawaharlal Nehru and his love and affection towards children as the building blocks of the nation. The students came to school attired in civil costumes as a part of the celebration. School chairman KK Vasal extended his warm blessings to the students on this special day. School Principal S Chauhan greeted the students in the special assembly and boosted them to render their roles as responsible youth of the society.
Mayor World School
The birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, was celebrated as Children’s Day with great enthusiasm in Mayor World School. School teachers entertained the students by performing various dances and standup comedy act. School’s vice chairperson Neerza Mayor read Rabindranath Tagore’s poem “Where the mind is without fear” lines. The students were conveyed the message of humanity, self respect, hard work and broad mindedness. The celebration continued with the ‘lazy dance’ performed by educators followed by bhangra by Mayor Galaxy. Teachers presented a spoof of Sholay- one of the iconic films of Bollywood. The various characters of Gabbar Singh, Jai and Veeru enthralled the students with excitement and joy. The celebration reached to its zenith when teachers and students together played musical chair.
Seth Hukam Chand SD Public Sr Sec School
Seth Hukam Chand SD Public School celebrated Children’s Day with fun and frolic. Celebration commenced with a special morning assembly. Student expressed the greatness Jawaharlal Nehru and his affection towards children in a paragraph. Various competitions like slogan writing, book jacket making, book mark making and sports day were organised. Students showcased their physical agility in article race, relay race and cap race. Principal Priyanka Sharma encouraged students to work diligently and enjoy their childhood.
The Nobel School
To celebrate Children’s Day, students of The Nobel School came dressed in colourful clothes. It was a fun-filled day for the students. All students enjoyed the day by taking part in fun activities. Chairman CL Kochhar and Principal Ravinder congratulated the students and wished them good luck for their future.
MGN Public School, Kapurthala
MGN Public School, Kapurthala, celebrated Children’s Day with a special assembly in which students of primary and senior sections recited poems and songs related to innocent childhood. The special activity ‘Tug of war’ was conducted in which the students of all the classes participated. Principal Rashmi Sharma wished the students and blessed them and encouraged them to work diligently and enjoy their childhood a transient phase to optimum. Chocolates were distributed.
MGN Public School
MGN pre-primary wing, Adarsh Nagar, celebrated Children’s Day. Children were briefed about the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru, and told that because of his immense love for children of the nation, he was lovingly called ‘Chacha Nehru’. The children were encouraged to follow his teachings of hard work and sincerity through a puppet show. A small but cultural programme was presented by teachers to entertain the small kids. Teachers dressed up as children and presented a group song and a group dance which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. The kids were spellbound to see their teachers dressed up as small kids. Principal KS Randhawa, vice-principal Gurjit Singh, headmistress Sangeeta Bhatia and pre-primary in-charge Sukham appreciated the efforts of teachers.
Innocent Hearts School
Children’s Day was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in Innokids, the pre- primary school of Innocent Hearts School. The children came dressed as their beloved ‘Chacha Nehru’. A number of fun games were conducted. The children enjoyed games like passing the parcel and musical chair. Students of classes V and VI participated in poster making activity. A quiz competition was organised for the students of classes VII and VIII.
State Public School
To celebrate birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, State Public School organised a picnic to Fun Zone, Curo Mall, for tiny tots of prep to UKG classes. The excursion inculcated in them team work and they got an opportunity to acquire firsthand knowledge. They were all excited and had fun and frolic under the supervision of teachers and the staff of Curo Mall. Principal Savina Bahl wished all children on this day and inspired them to become a better citizen of tomorrow.
