Having had a fortnight-long grooming experience from celebrities, including Ashmit Patel, Amanpreet Wahi, Sanjay Kapoor, Manoj Tiwari, Aman Verma and Rohit Roy, and winning a Mr Teen India title in a contest organised by a Delhi-based private club, city-lad Ansh Handa is on cloud nine.
A class XII commerce student of MGN Public School, Ansh says, "I can see a complete change in myself. I have returned much more confident having had a series of training sessions with the stars in ramp walk, dancing, photoshoots, IQ tests and handling interviews. I travelled alone in train to the national capital for the first time and made my own lodging arrangements there in the last two months."
The modelling aspirant shares, "The best part was that while initially my grandmother Renuka Handa was completely against my decision to take part in the contest and insisted that I focus on studies, she too came to Delhi to watch the grand finale on August 20."
A tall guy, he adds, "As a class VII student, I got selected for National Baskeball Championship. But my granny did not let me go citing the same reason. But this time, I managed to convince her."
While showing his trophies, he revealed, "I was just surfing on youtube last month when I hit this advertisement. I applied for it and was called for auditions. I got selected among top 250 guys from across India. There were two further screenings and I was in the top 70 lot. As the finale happened, we were just five boys left. My training helped me ensure that I do not get nervous and kept my focus all through. Finally, I did not just get the main award but also Mr Teen Personality trophy too."
A resident of Silver Oak Apartments, Ansh's shares that his businessman father Nitin Handa took him for his first photo shoot when he was just five years old. "Ever since, I have enjoyed facing cameras," he quips.
