BSNL launches 4G service in Punjab

The Bharat Samchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) 4G service was launched for Bathinda, Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar circles in Punjab by JC Menaria, Chief General Manager Telecom, BSNL, Punjab Circle. It will benefit the customers of Talwara, Garhshankar, Balachaur in Hoshiarpur telecom district; Banga and SBS Nagar in Jalandhar telecom district and Bhatinda city of Bhatinda Telecom district.
JC Menaria said with the launch of 4G service, the customers of the BSNL will get maximum data speed up to 35 Mbps. So, they will be able to use multimedia and all services of the Government of India launched under ‘Digital India initiative’, on their mobiles. Subsequently 4G service will be launched in other cities of the state.
He said: “To use the 4G service, the customers will have to get their existing SIM cards replaced with 4G SIM cards free of cost, from BSNL customer service centres, franchisee outlets and BSNL retailers. New 4G connections and MNP are also available at these places.”
General Manager, Mobile, Ajay Kararha informed that customers could check the 4G compatibility of their handsets by sending text message KYM< space > IMEI No. to 14422. If the customer receives LTE FDD BAND 1 in reply, then the handset is compatible.
Telecom District Heads Ajeet Kumar; GMTD Hoshiarpur, Sunil Kumar; GMTD Jalandhar; TS Bhambra GMTD Bathinda; who have contributed to the speedy launch and operation of 4G network in these districts were present during the launching ceremony.
