11 speakers share experience at TEDx event

TEDxYouth of Police DAV Public School, Jalandhar, comprising 44 members organised an event,TEDx experience, at DAVIET here today. The event was held under the aegis of TED, USA.
A total of 11 personalities of the country connected with the live audience and reached out to 19 million online viewers worldwide.
Dr Manoj Kumar, principal DAVIET and Manoj Chodha, MD, The Cabbanna, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Guneet Monga, an Oscar awardee for the documentary film ‘Period. End of Sentence’, founder president of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Movement; Annadurai, Billionaire auto driver, Prerna Magon, student researcher and member of the LGBT community; Anuja Kapur, criminal psychologist, leading advocate of Asifa and Nirbhaya cases; Raj Shamani, social enterpenueur; Pawan Kumar Chandana, former ISRO space scientist turned Space Entrepreneur; Gaurav Gupta, innovator and environmentalist, Co-founder, Swaha; RJ Pak Pak Deepak among others spoke on the occasion.
First speaker Guneet Monga, producer of the Oscar winning film – Period. End of Sentence, shared how she struggled as a 22-year-old young girl with only 50 lakh rupees in her pocket and became a producer, how she struggled to get a ticket to America and was eventually helped by the then President of India Pratibha Singh Patil. Currently, she is working on various social issues. Her message to the jam-packed audience was never think your dream is too big or is a fluke.
Dr Shah Faesal, the expert on the Kashmir issue, shared his journey of how he resigned from the Indian Administrative Services to work for J and K and joined politics. He called for a united India.
Annadurai – six times TEDx speaker and an entrepreneur, a high school dropout, who drives auto-rickshaw as his passion and has been nicknamed ‘India’s most loved auto-wala’ shared the luxurious auto story about his auto in which he provides reading material, music, internet, food and water, etc.
Prerna Magon, a student researcher and a member of the LGBT community, Raj Shamani, social enterpenueur shared how he had given 100 plus speeches in 23 countries.
Anuja Kapur, criminal psychologist, the leading advocate of Asifa and Nirbhaya cases, awarded as the ‘Best Criminal Psychologist’ at the International Excellence Awards 2017 also delivered a speech.
Pawan Kumar Chandana co-founder, CEO and CTO, Skyroot, is the only Indian to win ‘ISRO Innovation Award’ twice. Gaurav Gupta co-founder, Swaha - man behind making Indore the cleanest city in India shared how he developed a zero-cost decentralised way of managing wet waste via a mobile composting van.
Dr Anshul Dhingra ,among others, spoke on the occasion.
