PDP expels former minister Altaf Bukhari for anti-party activities

The Peoples Democratic Party has expelled former minister Altaf Bukhari expelled from for his involvement in anti-party activities.
Bukhari had joined the PDP in 2005 and was first elected in 2014 elections from Amira Kadal constituency of Srinagar. He had a long association with PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Bukhari was also a member of the party's highest decision-making body, Political Affairs Committee.
The PDP accused Bukhari of perusing his personal political ambition at the cost of the party and state interest.
"Bukhari inspired and led dissent in the party at its most crucial stage which resulted in serious damage to our efforts at implementing the agenda of alliance of our coalition government," a PDP spokesman said.
