Jammu, September 6

Keeping the tradition alive, a procession on the seventh day of Muharram was taken out in Jammu. Under the banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia, a large number of Shia Muslims took part in the procession to remember the martyrs of Karbala.

Later, a Majlis was also organised, which was addressed by Maulana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi, secretary, Ullam-e-Hind, New Delhi.

In his address, Maulana stressed upon the people to follow the teachings of martyrs. He talked about the importance of Muharram, which was a way to remember the Karbala battle.

Vice-president Anjuman-e-Imamia, Syed Afaq Hussain Qazmi also addressed the meeting. Prof Sujat Khan, secretary Anujman-e-Imamia, Jammu said it was the duty to spread the message about the martyrs who sacrificed their life for the sake of humanity. — TNS
