Jammu-Tawi railway station gets facelift

The Railway authorities have given a facelift to the Jammu-Tawi railway station by planting thousands of plants and dozens of handmade paintings.
In continuation with its beautification drive, the authorities have planted 2,500 plants on the premises of the railway station, including pot plantation, at the platforms and about 15 handmade paintings showing major tourist spots of Jammu.
In last few years, the railway station has been upgraded with lifts, two pairs of escalators, decorated wallpapers, upgraded enquiry centres and many more.
“The plantation was done to make the railway station more clean and green and in continuation with the beautification, we have now installed about 15 handmade paintings of the main attractions of Jammu city and around,” said Chetan Taneja, Divisional Traffic Manager, Railways, Jammu-Pathankot range.
“Our main focus is on the cleanliness of the railway station for which more than 100 dustbins have been installed at the railway station. The cleanliness team is working round the clock to make it cleaner for passengers,” he added.
