Winners honoured at Sanawar school founder’s day function

The 172nd founder’s day celebrations of Lawrence School, Sanawar, concluded with the ceremony of trooping the school flag where Bharat Puri, CEO, Pidilite Industries and alumnus of the school, was the chief guest.
He reviewed and took the salute of an impressive NCC parade presented by students where the school brass band played martial tune. A march-past by the students of 1954, 1959, 1969 and 1994 batches celebrating their blue-sapphire, diamond, golden and silver jubilees was another highlight of the day.
Headmaster Vinay Pande read out the annual report which threw light on the achievements of the school in academics, sports, cultural and extra-curricular activities that included round square activities and community service.
Expressing his profound gratitude to the school for its gracious hospitality, the chief guest felicitated the staff and students. He later awarded the medals and trophies to winners of academic and cultural events.
The chief guest also inspected an exhibition displaying the art work done by the students. It also drew appreciation of all guests and the chief guest.
The Chief of Air Staff Trophy for Academic Excellence was bagged by the Himalaya House. The house also bagged the Catherine Longman Cup for public-speaking. Old Sanawarian Achiever of the year award was granted to Nilanjan Roy of the 1984 batch.
Yashpal Choudhary Gold Medal was bagged by Aditya Chadha for standing first in Class XII board exams. He also bagged the Shadi Ram Gold Medal for scoring the highest marks in commerce in Class XII.
Smt Bhagwati Devi Gold Medal was given to Anoushka Chauhan for scoring the highest marks in humanities in Class XII. Nellie Lovell (OS) Gold Medal was bagged by Guneet Singh Talwar for scoring the highest marks in sciences in Class XII.
The Thimmaya Cup for Organisational Ability was awarded to Nixita Taneja and Carlill Cup for Progress was won by Nandaini Singh.
