The Kullu administration today restored the Rohtang Pass, the gateway to Lahaul, for vehicular movement between Manali and Keylong on the Manali-Leh highway. The pass was closed on Sunday following heavy snowfall in the region. However, the Border Roads Organisation cleared the snow on Monday evening.

A long traffic jam was witnessed between Marhi and Rohtang on the Manali-Leh highway as a large number of vehicles were stuck in Lahaul and Manali. A majority of them moved from the Lahaul side to Manali.

Manali SDM Raman Gharsangi said traffic had been restored between Manali and Keylong via the Rohtang Pass. “The people are advised to be cautious while travelling on the route as it has become slippery,” he added.
