PGI team inspects Una satellite centre

A delegation of experts from the PGI, Chandigarh, on Thursday visited the Una district hospital, where a satellite centre has been made functional recently on temporary basis.

The delegation included Dr Rakesh Sehgal, nodal officer of the centre, Dr Pranay Mahajan, Dr Vipin Kaushal, Dr Rakesh Kumar and administrative officer Sudhir Sharma. BJP state president Satpal Singh Satti and health officials accompanied the delegation.

The team visited the six rooms at the hospital that have been handed over to the PGI for the centre. After inspection, it asked local officials to mend roofs that are leaking at various places. They also sought some modifications in civil works besides some furniture.Dr Rakesh Sehgal said two doctors had joined at the hospital recently. He said six to seven doctors were expected to join soon.

The team later visited the 25-acre plot at Malahat village where the permanent centre would come up.

Satti said infrastructure at the district hospital would soon be strengthened.
