Leopard found dead

Sundernagar, September 10

A two-year-old female leopard was found dead after he was reportedly hit by some unidentified vehicle at Chamukha village on the Manali-Chandigarh National Highway near here yesterday.

According to locals, some unidentified vehicle hit the leopard resulted in on the spot death of the animal. The police were informed about the leopard’s death. A team of forest officials also reached the spot. The police have registered a case under the Wild Life Protection Act and taken the body into its custody.

Today, a team of four doctors from Sundernagar Veterinary Hospital conducted a postmortem. The body parts of the dead leopard were intact, forest officials said. — OC
