ITI-Shahpur wins overall trophy at sports meet

Secretary, Technical Education Board, Sunil Verma on Wednesday said sports played a important role in the life of students and they must devote some time to it.

He was addressing a gathering during the valedictory function of the 13th four-day District-level Sports Meet of ITIs of Kangra district at ITI-Shahpur.

The overall trophy in games was bagged by ITI-Shahpur while ITI-Dhamaita excelled in athletics.

In volleyball, ITI-Nurpur won the first prize and ITI-Shahpur secured the second spot. In kabaddi, ITI-Nurpur won the first position and ITI-Palampur the second. In kho kho, ITI-Dharamsala won the first prize and ITI-Nurpur secured the second position.

The first position in badminton was bagged by ITI-Shahpur, followed by ITI-Palampur. In basketball, ITI-Shahpur won the first position and ITI-Palampur the second. In march past, ITI-Nurpur, ITI-Shahpur and ITI-Palampur bagged the first, second and third positions. — OC
