Chhoti Holi in Kullu
KULLU: The two-day Holi celebrations began with ‘Chhoti Holi’ here today.
People participated in processions at Akhara Bazar, Sultanpur, Dhalpur and Sarwari and sang traditional songs.
The festival here is compared to Holi of Vrindavan and Mathura as many traditional rituals are linked to this colourful event. Mahants, who came here along with the idols of Lord Rama and Sita from Ayodhya in the mid 17th century, played Holi with the chief deity of Kullu Lord Raghunath and descendents of the erstwhile rulers of Kullu.
