HC bids farewell to Chief Justice V Ramasubramanian

A full court address was held today in the high court to bid farewell to Chief Justice V Ramasubramanian on his elevation as Judge of the Supreme Court.

The Chief Justice V Ramasubramanian said he had never thought that he would receive a farewell within three months of welcome. He said that he enjoyed every bit of his tenure in this high court, which was made possible only by a perfect work culture of his colleagues, members of the bar and the members of the staff.

He said his posting to this High Court as Chief Justice gave him three full months of existence filled with life in contrast to a life that he lived merely as a matter of existence earlier.

He thanked his fellow judges, members of the bar, judicial officers, officers and officials of the registry for their affection and co-operation. Justice Ramasubramanian was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court on June 22, 2019.

On this occasion, Justice Dharam Chand Chaudhary said that this high court had proved to be a spring board for another Chief Justice to take a high jump and reach in the highest court of the nation. He praised Justice Ramasubramanian for his legal acumen, erudition, oratorical skills, simplicity and courteousness. He said that Justice Ramasubramanian possesses extra-ordinary intellect and a desire to decide even the most complex and difficult issues, which is reflected in his judgments.

The proceedings of the reference were conducted by the Registrar General Virender Singh.

Advocate General Ashok Sharma, chairman of the Bar Council of Himchal Pradesh Ramakant Sharma, president of HP High Court Bar Association Rajiv Jiwan and Assistant Solicitor General of India Rajesh Sharma also spoke on the occasion.

Justice Sureshwar Thakur, Justice Vivek Singh Thakur, Justice Ajay Mohan Goel, Justice Sandeep Sharma, Justice Chander Bhusan Barowalia, Justice Anoop Chitkara and Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua were also present on this occasion.

Apart from them former judges of the High Court, Members of the Bar, Judicial officers and officials of High Court Registry were also present. After Full Court reference, Guard of Honour was also given to the Chief Justice V Ramasubramanian.
