Govt insensitive, says Sukhu
Hamirpur, June 24
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur-led BJP government is insensitive to public issues, while the development process in the state has been stalled, said Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, former president of the HPCC, at Nadaun today.
Sukhu said 45 persons, most of them young, were killed in a road accident near Banjar in Kullu district but transport minister was yet to own the responsibility of the incident. He alleged that it was unfortunate that the transport minister was reportedly shielding the owner of the ill-fated bus.
He said that over 800 buses were purchased by the Congress government and over 70 per cent of them were still to be put to use. He said that instead of buying more buses, the transport minister should focus on making best use of the buses standing idle.
Sukhu said the government had failed on all fronts and was busy in misleading people on development, corruption and generation of jobs. Sukhu said the work of irrigation scheme for Sera, Majhiar and Pakhrol villages was delayed to harass farmers. — OC
