Fourlane affected call off hunger stir

NURPUR, NOVEMBER 14
The indefinite hunger strike by Four Lane Lok Body (FLLB) president Rajesh Pathania was called off on 17th day of the strike following interventionof the district administration this evening.
Ashok Pathania, another activist of the FLLB who was also on indefinite hunger strike for the past 10 days, also called off the strike.
Deputy Commissioner Kangra, Rakesh Prajapti offered juice to the strikers for breaking the fast. They were sitting on the strike here at Chogan ground and their health condition was deteriorating with each passing day. The DC told the strikers that the state government had accepted the main two demands of the FLLB.
Significantly, the agitators of the FLLB, who had been agitating for the people in Nurpur section affected by the fourlane project of the NHAI, got no political support during the hunger strike. Finally, the DC Kangra took initiative and persuaded the protestors to call off their strike. As per information the DC handed over the letters of the Kangra Central Cooperative Ltd. Bank and the NHAI to the strikers in which bank had agreed to defer bank loan recovery proceedings from the fourlane affected people who had raised bank loans after issuing notification of 3-D by the NHAI for the construction of houses or business establishments for their rehabilitation. The NHAI also agreed to pay 12 per cent interest on the amount of compensation to be given to the affected people.
