Kasol and Manikaran in Kullu should be excluded from the Special Area Development Authority (SADA) due to distinct topography of the area. Ever since the panchayats of Kasol and Manikaran were included under SADA in 2003, the residents have been facing problems as the stringent laws are not suitable for rural areas considering their geographical conditions. Waste dumping site, sewerage, water supply and other facilities are to be provided under SADA, but nothing has been done on the ground so far. The government needs to look into it. —Hukkam, Kullu

He had announced that the proposed parking near Cafe Bhairav would also have a shopping centre. Now, the local MLA says the parking facility will be provided near Kheerganga. It seems the proposed parking project has become a victim of red tape.  —Vartika, Baijnath

HT tower under threat

Due to reckless excavation of the hill at the T-point for the four-laning of Solan highway, the HT tower can fall anytime. Passersby using the road are at a risk as there can be a fatal mishap. The authorities should ensure its timely removal rather than waiting for some tragedy to occur. The district administration should pay attention to such vulnerable areas. It is surprising that the authorities have not taken take note of it. Rain has further eroded the hill.  —Ritu Kumari, Solan
