State BJP’s media in charge Rajiv Jain has been appointed media adviser to Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar.

Decks were cleared for Jain’s appointment when Jain’s wife Kavita Jain was divested of the Information and Public Relations portfolio by the Governor on Thursday on Khattar’s advice — apparently to avoid ‘conflict of interest.’ Besides Information and Public Relations, Kavita is holding the charges of Urban Local Bodies and Women and Child Development. The Information and Public Relations portfolio has now been kept by Khattar.

Jain would handle the media management of the BJP government ahead of the Parliamentary and Assembly elections next year. Amit Arya, was shifted to Delhi on Wednesday for coordinating in the national capital. His sudden transfer seemed seemed to be the fallout of differences with a top functionary in the Chief Minister’s Office.
