Drugs ruin life, students told
Faridabad: The district Red Cross Society organised an awareness programme against drugs at DAV College here recently. Chief Guest Sushma Gupta said the biggest side effect of the drug was on the brain, which affects every aspect of the life of a drug addict. “Drugs are mainly chemical substances that affect the circulatory system of the human brain,” she said, adding that such substances affect the processes and information sent by the nerves to the brain. Drugs create a copy of natural chemical elements that work for communication in human brain, which stimulates its response circuit. In a similar way, she said heroin and cannabis were manufactured as chemical message carriers, known as neurotransmitters. Human life is ruined due to intoxication, she claimed. For this, everyone should avoid getting drunk and people around them who are victims of drug addiction should also try to get rid of it. College Principal Dr Satish Ahuja Vikas Kumar; secretary, district Red Cross Society, Ravindra Kumar; Programme officer of the society were among those present.
