Panipat bus stand to be shifted to Sewah village

The Panipat bus stand will be shifted to Sewah village and the city bus stand and roadways workshop would be constructed on the roadways’ department land in Sector 13 here. Dr Chander Shekhar Khare, Deputy Commissioner, today sent the final report regarding the shifting of the bus stand to the Chief Secretary, Haryana, for approval.

It was decided at a meeting held today at Skylark here under the chairmanship of Krishan Lal Panwar, Transport Minister.

The DC and officials of the Transport Department visited the proposed sites after the meeting.

The Transport Minister announced that the main city bus stand would be shifted to Sewah village, while the city bus stand and workshop would be constructed in Sector 13/17.

He said it was decided at the meeting that to improve the connectivity between the main bus stand and the city bus stand, a bus would be started.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had announced to shifting of the bus stand during his first visit to Panipat on December 20, 2014, to ease traffic congestion in the city.

The DC said a detailed report about the meeting held for shifting of the bus stand had been sent to the Chief Secretary for approval.
