Nuh MLA Zakir Hussain and Julana MLA Parminder Singh Dhull,  both of the INLD, today joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here in the presence of Chief minister, Manohar Lal Khattar and State BJP chief, Subhash Barala.

Hussain was one of the most vocal INLD MLAs in the Vidhan Sabha. His father, Tayyab Hussain, had the unique distinction of becoming MLA from three different states--Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan--and he also remained minister in the three states.

After joining the BJP they said that they were joining the party as they were impressed by the style of functioning of the Khattar government and its observance of the slogan “Sab Ka Saath Sabka Vikas”.

They claimed that that they have taken this decision after consultations with the people of their constituencies.  They said they have already sent their resignations from the Vidhan Sabha to the Speaker Kanwar Pal Gujjar.

He said whatever issues relating to Mewat development he had raised in the Vidhan Sabha, Khattar had accepted them all and launched development projects accordingly.

The BJP had lost to the Congress on all three Assembly segments of Mewat in the May 12 general election.

However, with his arch rival and former minister Aftab Ahmed firmly placed and pitted for a ticket in the Congress, Hussain is believed to have chosen to join the BJP as the INLD preformed badly in the Lok Sabha polls.

Ravinder Baliala, another INLD MLA who represents Ratia assembly segment of Fatehabad district, on Tuesday met State BJP chief Subhash Barala at his residence.

While the BJP sources confirmed the meeting, Baliala’s mobile phone could not be reached.
