Panipat girl bags Haryana Kesri title

Naina of Panipat won the “Haryana Kesri” title in the state-level woman’s wrestling competition that concluded here on Wednesday. She defeated Sonam from Sonepat in the final. Naina won a cash prize of Rs1.5 lakh, while Sonam received Rs1 lakh.
Reetu Malik of Jhajjar bagged the third position and received Rs51,000 in cash award.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Satbir Kundu gave away the cash prizes.
Naina is a final-year BA student in DAV College, Karnal. She aims to win a medal in the Olympics. She thanked her coach Mandeep for her feat. Mandeep has also coached international wrestling player Sakshi Malik.
In “Haryana Kumari” competition, Manju of Hisar bagged the top position by defeating Meenakshi of Jind. Manju got a cash prize of Rs51,000, while Meenaksi won Rs31,000. Priyanka of Bhiwani came third and won Rs21,000 in prize money.
In “Ksuhti Akhara” competition, Sanyogita of Kaithal emerged a winner in the 62-kg category and got a cash prize of Rs5,100. Neetu of Rewari was the first runner-up and won Rs3,100 and a memento. Pooja of Jhajjar and Kashish of Rohtak bagged the third position and were given Rs1,100 each.
