About 40 passengers, mostly from abroad, had a narrow escape when an Indo-Canadian bus heading towards Punjab from the New Delhi airport rammed into a divider near Baldi bypass on Wednesday morning. None of them was injured, the police said.

The passengers alleged negligence on the part of the driver and said there was no emergency exit door in the bus.

The passengers had to wait for more than two hours before the bus company arranged another bus. Deputy Commissioner Aditya Dahiya sent a roadways bus to take the passengers to their destination. The police launched an investigation into the incident. City residents also came to the rescue of the passengers.

A couple from the US said the bus driver lost balance of the bus and rammed it into the divider.

A woman from Australia blamed the bus company for not taking care about the safety of the passengers. She alleged there was no emergency exit door or window in the bus.
