Jilted suitor stalks taekwondo player

A 26-year-old national-level taekwondo player and coach has moved the police against a Jhajjar resident for stalking and threatening her with a gun asking her to marry him. An FIR was registered at Bilaspur police station today.
According to the complaint filed by the woman, she went to Rohtak to participate in a tournament few months ago. It was there that the accused Sombir, a resident of Bamdoli village in Jhajjar district, met her and procured her mobile number saying he too was a player. He then started calling and harassing her.
“He started stalking me and I filed a complaint against him on June 10. However, no action was taken and he became more confident. He landed in my village on August 12 and stayed there till August 14. He kept on stalking me there. He then came to my home with a gun and threatened me and my family, telling us to accept his marriage proposal. He even slapped me when I refused and fled,” read victim’s complaint.
As per the complaint, an FIR has been registered against Sombir (27) under Sections 323, 341, 354, 354-A, 354-D, 506 and 509 of the IPC. — OC
