Former Indri MLA Ashok Kashyap dies at 52

Former Indri MLA and the INLD leader Dr Ashok Kashyap passed away on Tuesday evening at a private hospital in the city.
As per the doctor, the former MLA was suffering from “pneumonia and chest infection” and was hospitalised on Tuesday morning after complaining of breathlessness.
“Dr Kashyap was brought to our hospital due to breathlessness and his lungs had turned white. He was kept on ventilator and we had tried our best to save his life, but he could not survive,” said Dr Kamal Charaya, physician of Shri Ram Chand Memorial Hospital, in the city.
He was 52 and was ailing for the past few days. He was elected in 2009 on INLD ticket.
Dr Kashyap was running a hospital in Indri and he was arrested allegedly for conducting sex determination test at his hospital in July 2015.
In April 2016, Dr Kashyap quit the INLD and joined Congress, but few days back he rejoined the INLD in the presence of former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala.
Yashvir Rana Kuku, district president of the INLD, confirmed the death and said that few days back Dr Kashyap joined the INLD.
He is survived by wife, two sons and one daughter.
