Cadets accorded warm welcome

Karnal: NCC Air Wing cadets of Government PG College, Sector 14, were given a warm welcome on their return to the college after winning the best aero-modelling trophy at the All-India Vayu Sainik (Air Force) camp held in Jodhpur. Representing Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate, four cadets participated in this camp. Cadet Monica and Cadet Vijeta Sharma made the best model of Jaguar aircraft. Cadet Dhananjay performed in the firing event of .22. Cadet Srawan made a radio-controlled aircraft model. Rekha Sharma, Principal; wing commander Pawan Goyal, admin officer of number 2 Haryana NCC air squadron; Suresh Dugal, flying officer; Jagdeep Kapil, aero-modelling instructor welcomed the cadets and encouraged them to work hard.

Workshop on law database  

Mahendragarh: Central University of Haryana (CUH) organised a workshop on ‘Manupatra Law Database’ to make faculty and students of the department of law aware of its features. Vice-Chancellor Prof RC Kuhad said Manupatra provides online as well as published text resources to access the latest information regarding law, taxation, corporate and business policy. Coordinator Dr Vinod Kumar Singh informed that it provides privileged access to its users and empowers them with in-depth legislative, regulatory and procedural information critical for decision-making.

KU club holds extension lecture

Kurukshetra: Kurukshetra University Population Club organised an extension lecture on family welfare programmes. Dr Neelam Arora from LNJP Hospital, Kurukshetra, was invited to deliver the lecture. She emphasised that to make society healthy, every individual should be mentally and physically fit. She discussed about mental health, ante-natal and post-natal care and immunisation of children. She also motivated the youth to be gender-sensitive. She informed the youth about various welfare programmes which are running under the state and central governments to make the citizens of the country healthy. Dr Vanita Dhingra gave the vote of thanks. Students from various departments attended the programme.

Start-up exhibition at college  

Karnal: An exhibition-cum-sale has been organised at Government PG College, Sector 14, here in association with Start-up Accelerator Chamber of Commerce (SACC). Principal of the college Dr Rekha Sharma inaugurated the event. The event was organised to promote entrepreneurship among the students of the college. Around 50 students participated and showcased their hand-crafted products in the exhibition and sold their products to students and staff members of the college. Two vendors from the local market visited the event and showed interest in selling the displayed products at their sale counters. Teachers from home science department, other staff members from various departments and start-up incubator in-charge Sunant Grover were present during the event.
