This movie comes just at the right time, at least someone somewhere is going to benefit from this - if not them, then shayad ‘AAP’ might! Punjabi film 22 G Tusi Ghaint Ho doesn’t come across with a bang, especially when it stars actor-turned-politician Bhagwant Mann.

The film, directed by Vishal Parasher, doesn’t have big names save for Bhagwant Mann, who has also written the script along with Ravinder Mand. This film more than partially showcases AAP’s philosophy — Bhagwant Mann plays an independent candidate Boota Singh, who campaigns with a very low budget. The film is rich in content, has some hard-hitting dialogues and also some fun-evoking ones. However, director Vishal has ended up making this film like a promotional campaign for some party! Had he given it a seriously funny touch, the story would have been different.

The film starts on an interesting note, but begins to drag thereafter. Surprisingly, you wouldn’t see much of Bhagwant Mann in the second half. Even as we talk about him, the irony is that you don’t know whether it is the actor playing the politician on screen or politician playing the actor!

Upsana Singh plays Bhagwant’s loud wife, a role which is not very different from the comedy that she does in Comedy Nights with Kapil. Rana Jung Bahadur, however, has a different role to play, which he has delivered effectively. If you are a Youtube junkie then you would definitely know Canadian stand-up comedian Jus Reign, who is a complete misfit. Rupan Bal, the other actor, has tried to do what he was told by the director. Tej Sapru plays the bad politician, but he is hardly presented as bad or as a politician. Ravinder Mand is another actor who is good at comedy.

The music goes pretty unnoticed. Had the film, which had a viable subject been crafted appropriately, it would have rung a bell with the audience! Since it comes across as a party-based docu-drama, aap khud samajhdar!
