The Shimla district administration has launched a website which furnishes all important and necessary information regarding key tourist destinations and contact information related to Special Area Development Authority (SADA), Kufri.

The tourists can also access the review system about the pony riding in Kufri and Naldehra and update their feedback on website along with star rating about their overall experience in these tourist places and, especially with horse riding, said Deputy Commissioner, Shimla, Rohan Chand Thakur.

Kufri, once known for skiing, has become synonym of mule dung heap as hundreds of people of surrounding areas offer pony riding facility to tourists, but there is no mechanism for keeping the area clean.

A large number of complaints are received from tourists about the behaviour of pony owners and their unions and this review system will track such culprits and their respective feedback will also be updated on the website.

“Online booking facility for pony riding is also provided in the portal to enable tourists to book the ride from home at any selected time and date along with number of horses required and boarding point,” Thakur said.

An email and SMS about the request will be sent to highly rated horse owner group and they can accept or reject the booking request. Instant email and SMS will be sent to the user about the confirmation or rejection.
