Three days after torn pages of Guru Granth Sahib was found near a gurdwara in Bargari, another incident of sacrilege of the holy book has come to fore in the gurdwara sahib at Kohrian village.

The Dirba police registered a case under Section 295-A of the IPC last evening. In his complaint to the police, a Kohrian resident, Bhupinder Singh, said when he went to the gurdwara sahib to take “Hukamnama”, he saw that some pages of the holy book were torn.

Sangrur SSP Pritpal Singh Thind today visited Kohrian village to keep the situation calm.

Thind said according to information about nine pages of the holy book were found torn in the gurdwara sahib. He said religious leaders gathered in the village today and he held a meeting with the villagers and the gurdwara management committee.

He said the gurdwara committee told him that it would verify that how the pages of the holy book were torn. Besides, the police would verify about it on its own level.
