British-Indian actor Dev Patel may have lost a chance to win at the Golden Globes, but the actor said he was proud to represent India on a global scale through his film Lion.

“The canvas (of the movie) is bursting with humanity, really. There is a sense of pride that I can go there and represent the country on an international scale,” Patel said on the red carpet event when asked about his experience of shooting in India. The 26-year-old actor was accompanied by film’s young star Sunny Pawar, whom the interviewers mistakenly called Patel’s brother!

Sunny plays the young Saroo Brierley, while Patel is in the grown-up version in the Garth Davis-directed movie about a man searching for his birth mother in India. — PTI
