The Swaraj Party today organised a seminar to expose the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Addressing the seminar, party spokesperson Dr Prashant Yadav said the incident of sacrilege of Quran in Malerkotla was not the first; a similar incident had taken place in Okhla, Delhi, in May 2014. “The Jamiya police had then arrested a few AAP workers. They were released later as Usman Ullaha Khan took the entire blame and was arrested. Later, he got the party ticket from Okhla and was elected as the MLA from the constituency. This clearly showed that these things were politically motivated and planned; a similar incident has taken place in Malerkotla now,” said Yadav.

He added that amendments have been made in the Jan Lokpal Bill and now, it is nothing more than a mere “joke”.

In the Jan Lok Pal Bill passed in 2014, the Lokpal had its own investigating committee while in the new Bill passed in 2015, it was dependent on government agencies, claimed Yadav.

He said in the 2014 Bill, only the President of India could remove a member on the recommendations of the High Court while in the 2015 Bill, a member could be removed by the Vice-President following the recommendation by two-third members of the Vidhan Sabha .

Yadav alleged that all these changes made the Bill weaker, turning it into a joke.
