This year’s Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate academic courses on the main campus, offsite campuses and affiliated colleges of the university will be held on June 12.
The online submission of application form will begin on May 9, while the last date for submitting online application form is May 23. A notification in this regard was issued by the University of Jammu here on Wednesday.
According to the notification, the university will set up nine examination centres, including one each in Leh and Srinagar districts, for the smooth conduct of examination and see larger participation of the students. Other centres of the JUET will be set up at Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Rajouri and Poonch.
“The admission shall be made on the basis of academic merit and marks obtained by the candidates in the JUET,” it said.
“There shall be two set of question papers (JUET-2016), one for the candidates appearing after Class XII and other for the candidates appearing after graduation comprising of 150 objective type questions,” the university notification said, adding that the university had decided to give 75 per cent weightage to academic merit, while the remaining 25 per cent marks would be calculated on the basis of performance of a candidate in the JUET.
The University of Jammu had started the JUET test for 42 postgraduate courses in 2011. Earlier, the selection of students for PG courses was conducted purely on academic merit of a candidate in graduation.
