PPCC chief Capt Amarinder Singh's war plan for 2017 is not just ready but is being implemented.
The plan is to woo each segment of the society, youth, farmers, Dalits, ex-servicemen, businessmen and traders. Refusing to tamper much with the party's organisational structure and thus ruffle some feathers, he is instead setting up separate teams of volunteers to deal with each section of society.
In line with this, he inducted Sufi singer and Akali supporter Hans Raj Hans into the party fold. Hans Raj Hans said it was because of the "arrogance" of the Akali leaders that he decided to quit the party. "They only used me to woo crowds," he added.
Amarinder said he was open to talks with the BSP and the Left to fight the Akalis and AAP. Admitting that the other two parties had tact and money power, he said he had the vision for creating a better Punjab.
He said his government was the first to introduce a Rural Indebtedness Bill. "For years, the Akalis did nothing to mitigate the woes of the farmers,” he added.
