Flood-hit will be rehabilitated: Bali

The IPH and HPSEB Departments have put the rain damage at Rs 30 crore in Nagrota Bagwan. Transport, Food and Civil Supplies and Technical Education Minister GS Bali today visited the affected areas. He said the rain had damaged more than 100 houses with 25 to 30 being washed away.
He assured the affected people of financial help. The minister paid Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 to each family. The residents, whose houses were washed away, were given Rs 10,000.
He said the families would be rehabilitated and the authorities were told to identify land for the purpose.
Bali visited Rajeev Gandhi Government Engineering College at Massal to take stock of the damages caused to the college complex. He directed the authorities to take steps to save the complex from any further damage.
He directed the authorities to reconstruct roads and culverts at Gujraida village today. He was accompanied by Kangra SDM Madhu Chaudhary and other officials.
Transportation hit in Chamba
Chamba: Transportation services have been disrupted on several interior roads in Chamba district due to soil erosion and landslips following heavy downpour today.
As per reports, damages caused to public and private property in the district due to heavy rains has been over Rs 20 crore so far during the past one month.
The district administration has directed all departments concerned to make necessary arrangement in the wake of incessant rainfall, landslides and flash floods. Residents have been told not to go near the rivers.
