After attaining statehood 68 years ago, Himachal touched new development heights and was at the top among different hill states of the country. Urban Development Minister Sudhir Sharma said this while addressing a gathering at the Police Ground in Dharamsala today.

He unfurled the National Flag and took salute of the march past. Contingents of the Police, Home Guards, NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides and schoolchildren participated in the parade.

He earlier visited the War Memorial and paid floral tributes to soldiers who attained martyrdom, while guarding the nation.

He said the present government had taken several decisions of public welfare which had given new wings to the development of the state. He said that government had concentrated on equitable and inclusive development of the state.
