Rajat Tokas, who was last seen in Jodhaa Akbar as the emperor Akbar, is back on the small screen as Chandragupta, the emperor who laid the foundation of a united Indian sub-continent. However, not many are aware of the story that lies beyond this. For the first time ever, the story of Chandragupta and warrior princess Nandni will come live to the viewers through the epic show Chandra Nandni on Star Plus from October 10 onwards.

“I am really looking forward to portraying the mighty king, Chandragupta Maurya. His and Nandni’s story is very different from what we’ve seen on TV so far. Theirs is a love story written with hatred.” Nandni, played by Shweta Basu Prasad, is a princess who was apple of her father’s eye and raised equal to her eight brothers.

To bring alive the Mauryan era through the show minute details have been taken into account right from the set of the show, to the costume, the jewellery, the language and more.
