“Neela” (meaning Akalis) have destroyed Punjab by “chitta” (drug) and “chitti” (whitefly). The SAD-BJP has literally brought the state to a virtual plunder and it will take years to recover from it.

This was stated by former Chief Minister Rajinder Kaur Bhattal at a rally organised in the Sahnewal constituency under programme “Congress Lyao, Punjab Bachao” near Jandiali village today.

Launching a scathing attack against the ruling government, Bhattal said, “People of Punjab will never ever think of voting the Akalis to power again. The farming community, workers, labourers, teachers and unemployed are cursing the Akalis and waiting eagerly for the elections to throw them out of power and heave a sigh of relief.”

Ridiculing the Punjab Government’s assertion of having made the state power surplus she said, “This was bound to happen as the industry has shifted to other states and hence there is no dearth of power anymore.”

She also criticised the poor law and order situation in Punjab. She condemned the Modi government for not fulfilling the promises made to Punjab during elections. She also criticised AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal for misleading the public. Bhattal said the incidents related to desecration of holy books had never happened during the Congress rule. The Congress had never mixed religion with politics.
