Rang tribals from Pithoragarh, Nepal come together

Pithoragarh, August 30
The Rang Kalyan Santha, a cultural and social organisation of the Rang community, today organised its 27th annual general meeting at Garbiyang village in the Byans valley of Dharchula subdivision in Pithoragarh district.
Nepalese Rang thinker Nandan Singh Lala, a resident of Changru village of Nepal, orgainsed the meeting and activists and leaders of the community from both countries participated.
“The programme began with the lighting of the traditional lamp by senior member of the Rang community Jasraj Singh Byansi. Tribal groups from both countries organised traditional dances on the occasion. A cultural procession of Rang cultural symbols was also held,” said Chandra Singh Napalchyal, president of the Rang Kalayan Sanstha.
“Rang cultural activists Harish Rutela, Paramal Singh Hyanki and Jasuli Saukani, Brigadier General of Nepal Army Gopal Singh Bohra, programme host Nandan Singh Lala, Chana Devi, Motima Tinkari from Tinkar village of Dharchula district of Nepal were also felicitated,” said Napachayal.
Addressing the congregation, former Uttarakhand Chief Secretary and senior member of Rang society Nrip Singh Napachayal said due to the presence of donors and social workers, the society was growing and its culture was getting recognition at the international level.
“The Rang society is also a symbol of cooperation between India and Nepal,” said Napalchyal.
