Ludhiana: Cherubs the Preschool organised a rain dance party on their premises at Dugri. The students came dressed in raincoats and colourful umbrellas. They splashed and played with the water. The students danced to the tune of various songs. It was a great opportunity for the children to beat the heat by getting drenched. After the party, they were served snacks and juices.

SUMMER CAMP 

A summer camp was organised at Ryan International School, Dugri, for the students of Montessori II onward. Various activities such as cricket, skating, English conversation classes, art and craft, keyboard playing and western dance classes were organised for the students to enhance their skills in different sectors. The students actively participated in the activities.

TEACHING WORKSHOPS

A series of teaching workshops organised for the teachers of all the eleven branches of Nankana Sahib Education Trust concluded at Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Park. The workshops were held under the

guidance of Gurcharan Singh Gill, director, Nankana Sahib Education Trust and Harmeet Kaur Waraich, principal, NSPS, Gill Park. On the third day, a workshop on teaching of history and moral education was conducted. KG Sharma, an author to many books, serving in the Directorate of Education and a consultant to the CBSE in formulating the syllabus of history for classes XI and XII, spoke on the subject. Sher Jung, principal, NSPS, Samrala, shared his views on geography. He said while teaching maps, one should use black-boards and the teachers should give brief notes on the map itself as to why the geographical features of one place were different from others. This would help in registering facts and logic, he said. While addressing the pre-primary workshop for the kindergarten section, Waraich stressed upon the teaching methodology for newly admitted kids. She said tender minds should be dealt with politely to make them learn. Teachers from all the eleven branches, including NSPS Samrala, Kalal Majra, Kot Gangu Rai, Khasi Kalan, Fatehgarh Jattan, Isru, Bhudhewal, Kila Raipur, Amargarh, Rampur and Gill Park, participated in the workshops.

OLIVER HOUSE PRESCHOOL AND DAYCARE

A fashion show was organised during a summer camp at Oliver House Pre-School and Daycare. The theme of the fashion show was, ‘Best dress out of waste material’. Students came dressed in attires made out of newspapers and disposable articles. The students were awarded certificates in different categories such as ‘Budding Model-Male’, ‘Budding Model-Female’, ‘Miss Rampwalk’, ‘Mr Rampwalk’, ‘Best Dessed Female’ and ‘Best Dressed Male’. —TNS
