Oak Grove School awards meritorious students

Oak Grove School celebrated its 128th Founders’ Day with fervour and gaity here today.

AK Puthia, General Manager, Northern Railway, was the chief guest on the occasion. He inaugurated the function by hoisting the school flag, which was followed by recitation of the school song and inspection of guard of scouts and guides.

The trophy for the best house in senior boys’ section was awarded jointly to Patel and Shivaji Houses and in senior girls’ section it was lifted by Padmini House.

Principal JP Pandey read out the annual report highlighting the achievements of the institution. Students of the three wings of the school presented a band display, pyramid, karate show, Shiv tandav, PT dance, religion dance and festival dance.

A presentation of kathak was given by Tanushaka Pandey.

The chief guest released the magazine “Navaankur” on the occasion. He later inaugurated the exhibition of science, social science, needle and craft at the Oak Grove Senior Girls’ School. Later on, he gave away prizes to the students excelling in academics and sports.

The trophy of the most disciplined boy was given to Amritanshu Kumar. Ritvik Singh Tolia was declared the most popular boy of the school. The best scholar award was bagged by Vishal Pratap Singh of Class XII.

The trophy for the most enterprising and creative girl was shared by Nida Ansari and Arunima. This year, the Manav Sanskriti Samman was jointly given to Sushmita Banerjee and Tatahgat Pal.

Muskan Singh was declared the best in academics. The trophy of the most popular girl was lifted by Sunaina Sajwan. The prize for the best scholar of junior school was given to Ritesh Kumar and Akansha Singh.

Chief guest AK Puthia and Angaraj Mohan, Chief Personnel Officer, Northern Railways, appreciated the efforts put in by children in making the function successful.

Principal JP Pandey congratulated the faculty for excellent results in class X board examinations.

Madhuri Puthia, Pramod Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager, Moradabad; Sanju Pandey; Tanuja Joshi, Head Mistress, Oak Grove Girls’ School; Krishna Kumar, Head Master of Boys’ School; Amita Srivastava, Head Mistress of Junior School; Dr Atul Kumar Saxena; GD Raturi, faculty members and students of the participated in the event.
