Now, a biopic on Lakshmi Sahgal

Esha Gupta has proved her mettle as an actor by portraying diverse roles. If sources are to be believed, the actress has been recently approached to play Captain Lakshmi Sahgal in a biopic based on the late revolutionary of the Independence movement.

Not many know that Lakshmi Sahgal was the first woman who stood with Subhash Chandra Bose and initiated the Jhansi regiment. She was an officer of the Indian National Army and the Minister of Women’s Affairs in the Azad Hind government. A production house recently approached Esha and narrated their idea of the biopic. The makers are keen to get Esha on board and they feel she is apt for the biopic also considering the fact that she has an army background. The biopic talks about women empowerment. Interestingly, Esha has also played a cop on screen before in Chakravyuh.
